Review – The Black Sky by Timothy D. Minneci
The Black Sky by Timothy D. Minneci did not live up to my expectations. The characters were inconsistent, the writing off putting and the plot inconceivable. The only redeeming feature was glimpses of new technology.
A wasted opportunity.
Review – Hyenas by Michael Sellars
This zombie tale delivers an interesting premise on the genre with plenty of danger, thrills and gore. It invites us to question what makes us human. You will be fascinated as I was to know more about the assertion. Scary but thoughtful read.
Review – The Sign of Four by Arthur Conan Doyle
The Sign of Four relates the story of another mystery that Sherlock Holmes and Dr John Watson can sink their teeth into. A perplexing disappearance, mysterious letters, and magnificent lost treasure. It has all the elements that we know and love plus Victorian attitude a plenty.
Review – Innova by Julie C Gilbert
This Christian sci fi audiobook is a short introduction to a dystopian world, that is sparse on details but interesting nevertheless.
Review – The Boy Who Ate America by Nathan Smith Jones
The Boy Who Ate America is an entertaining read on more than one level. It introduces children to self awareness, Christianity and the personal relationship with God. Good for all ages.
Review – Nine Lives by Karli Rush
Short story about a young woman turned into a cat in retaliation, trying to use the experience for good and to hopefully change back.
Review – Hera’s Terrible Trap by Stella Tarakson
If you’ve ever wondered what Medusa’s (the Gorgon’s) sister was like, are interested in how to successfully escape a maze and would like to know how to best peacocks then Hera’s Terrible Trap is right for you.
Review – Gargantis by Thomas Taylor
Gargantis is another cracking read, full to the brim with more sinister happenings in Eerie on Sea. Verdict: Lovely place to visit, too scary to live there, never a moment’s peace. A thrilling middle grade mystery.
Monthly Preview – May 2020
May looks good to go. I have a few ARCs scheduled and a couple in particular that I’m looking forward to, Michelle Obama’s biography to listen to before I see the Netflix special and catching up on anything I should have read.
