Book Review – The Secret Commonwealth by Phillip Pullman

It was beautifully written and thoroughly engaging but left me feeling empty afterwards despite what had been gained: greater insight into Lyra herself, the world around her and the tendrils which were reaching out to her. It felt like filler. Nothing substantial happened on this quest.

Please read this book, even you think these themes are not for you because it’s not just about those themes, it about excellent writing, real personalities which live off the page and the feeling of well being that remains with you for a long time after reading it,

Book Review – Ghost Virus by Graham Masterton

There was a number of innovative ways of clothes killing people but eventually the deaths became exhausting , each subsequent death ramps up the slaughter with detailed gore of bones, organs and guts. I simply wanted to get to the end of the book and find out why this was happening.

We Are Not Your Kind,:the stylistic and musical range is so wide, I’m sure there’s an entry point even for those who are not fans of metal. How can you not like one of these songs? It’s unfeasible.

Book Brief – H.I.V.E. by Mark Walden

What has sold this to me is how likeable the young people are, the friendship which binds them and trying to get to the bottom of the overarching plot, what is H.I.V.E and G.L.O.V.E really about.
